INSIDE Somalia: Venicepromex

Organized by Venicepromex in collaboration with UNIDO ITPO Italy, the webinar “INSIDE Somalia” took place on 28 October 2021 with the goal of presenting the partnership opportunities with SMEs in Somalia.

After the welcome remarks of Mr. Franco Conzato, Director General of Venicepromex, the conference featured the interventions of Mr. Ygor Scarcia, Project Manager of UNIDO Somalia, who introduced the potential of the Somali market and the projects of UNIDO in Somalia; Mr. Francesco Pallocca, Investment Promotion Expert of UNIDO ITPO Italy, who illustrated the catalogue “Business opportunities in Somalia”; and Mr. Dario Traverso, Co-Founder and CEO of Genius Watter Srl, with the success case of a company from the Italian region of Venetoand operating in Somalia in the sectors of desalination powered by solar energy.

Attended by 10 companies in the agro-industry sector from Venicepromex network, the event offered an insightful overview of the current economic situation in Somalia, while also exploring the topic of access to credit and outlining the upcoming activities for 2022.
